DVD Cover and DVD Stick On

Part of the assessment for Illustrator is too create a DVD cover and the sticker for the DVD.  Here is the final results for my 2012 versions of this assessment task.

After Effects Assessment Task

I thoroughly enjoyed working with After Effects.  Our task for this assessment was to make a movie trailer or an opening sequence for a TV show.  I went with the movie trailer.

The story is of a love between a human and a vampire.  He dies, we see her holding red roses as we ponder what happens as Per L'Eternita does mean For Eternity.

The pictures are of avatars I created in Second Life and I managed to capture the couple dancing in Second Life using Snag It.

Music is by Tristania and the song is called Sirene.

My New Company Logo

It is not easy coming up with a name for a company and then trying to create a logo.

One way is to write down all your favourite activities.  Mine were:

Music
Reading
Gaming
Teddy Bears
Travelling

I took the word travel and then used an online thesaurus to see what other words I could get out of it.  The final name came from:

  • travel
  • exploration
  • pioneer
  • frontiersman
  • frontier
The second part of the name just fell into place with the word "creations".

I then had to research different types of logos and print out the ones that I liked.  From these I could look at how the designed the word Frontier.  Look at Fonts, colour, space, texture, size, value and shape.  All the elements of design.

Once I had chosen the best pencil sketch of the design, I also shared it with my class mates, it was then down to creating the logo in Illustrator.  Many people hate Illustrator and would sooner use Photoshop, but Illustrator is the best manipulator for creating the best logo.  Photoshop lacks a lot of manipulation.

I then printed the final black n white version of the logo and then set out to colourise my logo.  After trial and error here is the final outcome of the logo along with the original black n white version.

My photos go big time

We made the front page of the ABC website!!

Congratulations Lyn and Carolyn,

On Friday 5 October your awesome Now and Then photos from Mount Panorama were featured on the front page of the ABC website.

This is a big achievement!

They fit well with the historic moment of the race this weekend, which no doubt you'll be hearing over the next few days.

Here is the ABC Local article that features them all together.  http://bit.ly/PMIb19

Once again, thanks for all your effort.

Regards,

Luke
